New Student Placement Tests and Registration Options

Congratulations on your acceptance to Clinton Community College! As a new student we want to help you take the next step to enroll by scheduling a placement test and/or registration session. Based on your student type, please find the appropriate path to schedule your placement test and/or class registration session(s).

New Transfers, New Part-time, Online Learners and Adult Learners (Students 25 years of age or older): Please email our Counseling and Advisement Office to discuss your registration process or call (518) 562-4199.

New First-Time, Full-Time Students: The staff of the Admissions Office is prepared to help you select a placement test and registration session.

  • For Fall classes, the first placement tests are offered in April, followed by the first class registration sessions in May. Sessions continue through Saturday, August 26, 2017.  Fall classes begin Monday, August 28, 2017.

We understand as new students you have busy schedules. We offer three formats for testing and registration sessions.  North Country residents should consider options 1 and 2 below.  Option 3 is designed for students in the New York City and surrounding area.

1. Combined Day: One Full-Day Session:
A combined day, complete with testing and class registration, in one full-day format, 9:30 AM - 3:00 PM.

2. Two Half-Day Sessions: A placement test appointment, typically offered beginning at 9:00 AM (students will have until 12:00 PM to complete the test; late arrivals cannot be accommodated), followed by a second half-day appointment to register for classes. Class registration sessions are often 12:30 PM - 3:00 PM.

3. NYC Registration Session: Staff from Clinton set up at the SUNY Center for Student Recruitment on 42nd Street.  We offer different times/dates (TBA) for NYC area students to take their placement test and complete a survey form which will allow us to select a schedule of classes to suit your needs, program-wise and schedule-wise.
