Meet the Coaches


Men's Basketball Coach-Kevin Daugherty

Clinton Community College Men’s Head Basketball Coach Kevin Daugherty enters his sixth year at Clinton following a very successful seventeen year career as the Boy’s Varsity Basketball Coach at Plattsburgh High School. While at Plattsburgh he led his teams to nine Section XII Titles and Eight League Championships.


Coach Daugherty has over 20 years Head Coaching experience. In October of 2007, Coach Daugherty was recognized by the Basketball Coaches Association of New York for having won over 300 games thus far in his career.

In his first season at Clinton the Cougars won the Northern Independene Conference Post Season Championship. The 2006-2007 season saw Daugherty lead the Cougars to a 20 win season, while making it to the Region III Final Four. The 2006 and 2007 seasons also produced Clinton Basketball’s first NJCAA First Team All-American, Philip Barnes. Phil Barnes was Coach Daugherty’s first recruit while taking over the program in 2005. He attended NCAA Division II Lemoyne University in Syracuse on a full athletic scholarship.


Women's Basketball Coach-Ryan Earle


Ryan Earle has been appointed as the Women’s Basketball Coach for the Lady Cougars for the 2013-2014 season. Ryan is a native of the area, graduating from Peru Central High school, where as a player, he was a member of the 2002 Boy’s Sectional Champions. Following high school, Ryan attended Clinton Community College where he continued his playing career. Ryan was the point guard for the Men’s program which in 2007 made it the Regional Final Four, lead by current Men’s Coach, Kevin Daugherty.

Ryan has since held various positions at Plattsburgh High school; spending three seasons as the Boy’s Modified A head coach and most recently the past two years as the Boy’s Junior Varsity head coach.

Ryan is currently a sales associate for Fesette Realty, in Plattsburgh, New York.

Women's Softball Coach -Sami Stoughton

Coach Sami Stoughton is very excited to be returning to the diamond this year as the head coach of the Clinton Community College Women's Softball Team.  She has played softball all of her life and has enjoyed how the game has changed over the years.  Sami is a former Student-Athlete at CCC.


Men's Baseball Coach-Tom Neale

Head baseball coach Tom Neale enters his 21st year at the helm of the Cougar Baseball program. A love for the game of baseball and the reward involved in mentoring student-athletes is the reason Coach Neale enjoys the coaching profession. The Cougars are proud to compete at a high level against the strong competition that exists in NJCAA Region 3 New York State Junior College Baseball.



Coach Neale resides in Plattsburgh, NY with his wife Suzanne and two daughters, Karlie and Lexie. He graduated from Plattsburgh High School in 1987. While playing baseball at the College of St. Rose in Albany, NY from 1987 - 1991, Neale earned a Bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education. He was team captain during his junior and senior seasons and later recognized as a member of the St. Rose Baseball All 20 Year Team.



Coach Neale works as the Education Coordinator at the Ted K. Center located in the Plattsburgh Housing Authority.
 

Women's Soccer Coach-Kaila Sciascia

Kaila Sciascia has been appointed the Head Women’s Soccer Coach. Kaila is a 2008 graduate of the University of Maryland. She played 4 years on the Women’s Varsity Soccer team on full scholarship. While in College, Kaila was named to the University Scholar-Athlete Honor Roll, was a 4-year starter, and was the captain as well as the team’s leading scorer her senior year. Kaila was a 2004 team member of the United States U-17 National Team, played professionally after graduating from College, and has significant coaching experience.

Kaila is currently employed at Twinstate Technologies in Morrisonville as a Research and Marketing Specialist.

She has a B.S. in Family Science with a minor in Kinesiology, Sport Commerce and Culture. Kaila succeeds Donna Dixon, who has had an outstanding coaching record for many years at Clinton.


Men's Soccer Coach- Gene Bushey


Mr. Gene Bushey has been appointed the Head Men’s Soccer Coach. For the past 2 years year’s he was the Assistant/Goalkeeper Coach for Clinton. In the 2009-2010 season the CCC men’s goalie, Travis Agoney, was named the NJCAA Player of the Week.


Gene played his collegiate soccer at SUNY Canton. He has officiated in the CCCSOA organization for 15 years, 5 years as a USSF official, and has held a trustee position on the Executive Board for 2 years. He is currently a holder of the NSCAA State, Regional and Advance goalkeeper diplomas. He has attended the Simon Smith goalkeeper clinic in Syracuse and he is a member of the franchise, Just 4 Keepers.


Mr. Bushey resides in Plattsburgh with his three children. He is employed by The U.S. Border Patrol as a Law Enforcement Auto Technician.
