Meet the Coaches


Men's Basketball Coach-Kevin Daugherty

Clinton Community College Men’s Head Basketball Coach Kevin Daugherty enters his sixth year at Clinton following a very successful seventeen year career as the Boy’s Varsity Basketball Coach at Plattsburgh High School. While at Plattsburgh he led his teams to nine Section XII Titles and Eight League Championships.

Coach Daugherty has over 20 years Head Coaching experience. In October of 2007, Coach Daugherty was recognized by the Basketball Coaches Association of New York for having won over 300 games thus far in his career.

In his first season at Clinton the Cougars won the Northern Independene Conference Post Season Championship. The 2006-2007 season saw Daugherty lead the Cougars to a 20 win season, while making it to the Region III Final Four. The 2006 and 2007 seasons also produced Clinton Basketball’s first NJCAA First Team All-American, Philip Barnes. Phil Barnes was Coach Daugherty’s first recruit while taking over the program in 2005. He attended NCAA Division II Lemoyne University in Syracuse on a full athletic scholarship.


Women's Basketball Coach-Donna Dixon

Coach Donna Dixon enters her 15th season as the Clinton Community College Women’s Basketball Coach.

She led the Clinton Community College women’s basketball team to several Northern Independence Conference Tournaments, winning the championship in 2001. Coach Dixon has also led the Cougars to 3 Region III, Division III tournament appearances including the Elite Eight in 2007.

Prior to landing at Clinton Community College, Coach Dixon served as an assistant coach at Plattsburgh State University. A highly accomplished basketball player, Dixon was the State University of New York Player of the Year in 1989. Dixon was also inducted into the Plattsburgh State University Hall of Fame in 2004.

Coach Dixon received a Bachelor’s of Science Degree in Health and Recreation Services from Plattsburgh State University.


Women's Softball Coach -Donna Dixon


Coach Donna Dixon is very excited to be returning to the diamond this year as the head coach of the Clinton Community College Women's Softball Team.  Previously, Ms. Dixon was the Clinton Softball Coach from 1998-2003.  She has played softball all of her life and has enjoyed how the game has changed over the years.  Donna is really excited to coach this year's team on a new field and with new players. 


Men's Baseball Coach-Tom Neale

Head baseball coach Tom Neale enters his 20th year at the helm of the Cougar Baseball program. A love for the game of baseball and the reward involved in mentoring student-athletes is the reason Coach Neale enjoys the coaching profession. The Cougars are proud to compete at a high level against the strong competition that exists in NJCAA Region 3 New York State Junior College Baseball.

Coach Neale resides in Plattsburgh, NY with his wife Suzanne and two daughters, Karlie and Lexie. He graduated from Plattsburgh High School in 1987. While playing baseball at the College of St. Rose in Albany, NY from 1987 - 1991, Neale earned a Bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education. He was team captain during his junior and senior seasons and later recognized as a member of the St. Rose Baseball All 20 Year Team.

Coach Neale works as the Education Coordinator at the Ted K. Center located in the Plattsburgh Housing Authority.
 

Women's Soccer Coach-Donna Dixon

Coach Donna Dixon enters her 12th season as the Clinton Community College Women’s Soccer Coach. She has led the women’s soccer team to a 147-35-6 record.

During her tenure, Clinton women’s soccer qualified for the NJCAA Region III tournament 8 years and the NJCAA Final Four. Also, they won their Northern Independence Conference (NIC) Tournament Championship 5 years in a row. Clinton went undefeated in 2003 during the regular season and was ranked #1 in Region III and in the Nation. This year the Women's team won the National Championship.

Several student-athletes have received post-season awards including NIC All-Conference and NIC Most Valuable Players; Region III All-Region teams, Region III All-Tournament teams and Region III All-Americans. Dixon has sent numerous players on to four-year colleges who have made an instant impact to their respective teams.

Prior to landing at Clinton Community College, Coach Dixon coached the girl’s soccer team at Plattsburgh High School. Dixon was the starting goalie for Plattsburgh State University and was inducted into the Plattsburgh State University Hall of Fame in 2004.

Coach Dixon received a Bachelor’s of Science Degree in Health and Recreation Services from Plattsburgh State University.


Men's Soccer Coach- Zachary Eppler

Clinton Community College is pleased to announce that Zachary Eppler was hired for the Head Men’s Soccer Coach as the 2010-2011 school year and will return for a second year.

Mr. Eppler is a recent graduate of Siena College where he majored in Spanish. He is also a graduate of Seton Catholic School in Plattsburgh, where he was a member of the boy’s soccer team. In his sophomore year he helped lead the school to the New York State finals where they were defeated 1-0 in the Final Four. During his junior and senior years he served as a Captain. Seton also advanced in the New York State Championships during his junior and senior years.

Other accomplishments for Mr. Eppler include being named twice to the All Champlain Valley Athletic Conference Team.
