Men's Soccer preview

Tuesday, September 02, 2008

Three players will return to Clinton Men’s soccer team this season.

“We have a bunch of fresh faces again, but we’re not as hard pressed as last year. “ said Coach Eric Arnold. Clinton returned only one player last year and finished the season 8-8-1.

Coach Arnold said this one of the toughest schedules this year since CCC  is now in the Mountain Valley Conference. Clinton will be starting out the season on the road to a very difficult opening with Cayuga CC and Corning CC.

Returners include Aaron Goldfarb, Joey Murphy and Cameron White.

Goldfarb had 5 goals last season.

Kasey Trombley of Chazy will see playing time and he is a strong player according to Coach Arnold. Nicholas Woodley and Matt Philips also join CCC. Chris Garrand, Corey Davidson and Jeremy Jennett from Northeastern Clinton are players with experience.

Kristopher Smith, Brendon Hiepel and Jesse Ward will be in the midfield or back.

Aaron McConeghy and Austin Grande both have versatility.

In goal William Simonetti and Kyle Peter-Russell will sharing duties.
