Monday, May 11, 2009

Plattsburgh-The Clinton Community College Athletic Department is pleased to introduce new Head Men’s Soccer Coach. Mark Misiak will replace Eric Arnold who is stepping down after 15 years.

“Eric will be missed as a coach, but he is still at school as a teacher. We are happy to have Mark as our new coach. He is very capable and comes from one of the finest soccer programs in the country. The soccer program will continue to be in good hands”. said Clinton CC Athletic Director, Dr. Todd Roenbeck.

Coach Misiak played four years at Plattsburgh State. He received all SUNYAC and All Region honors. He also served as an assistant for Coach Chris Waterbury Men’s Soccer Team and also served as an assistant to Coach Karen Waterbury for the Women’s Team.

“Soccer is a big part of my life and becoming a head coach has been a goal of mine," Misiak said. "I got the opportunity and I jumped at it. Being an assistant for both Chris and Karen has definitely prepared me for this. I've learned so much from them. They bring a unique style to the game and work hard on their programs."

Coach Misiak also said, “I've been able to get some experience in all facets of the game, including recruiting," he said. "I'm broadening my scope and will talk with people in Vermont to get my name out there. I want the best players we can get wherever they come from. I'm not big on long terms goals. My goal is to win the next game. Clinton has done well in the past and I'm looking to help bring some national recognition to the school."
