Mohawk Valley wins over CCC
Monday, February 15, 2010
UTICA —Clinton lost to Mohawk Valley CC 66-38. Mohawk Valley is ranked second in the Region. "The schedule has been a killer. This was our fifth road game in a row and we have another tomorrow against the No. 3 team (Tompkins-Cortland CC) in the region. Then, next Saturday, at home we get the No. 1 team (Herkimer CC)," said CCC Coach Kevin Daugherty. "Herkimer may be the No. 1 team now, but Mohawk might be the best team in the region," Daugherty added. "They (Mohawk) are big, strong kids who can really play." "We shot very poorly from the start — 25 percent for the first half — and it didn't get a whole lot better the second half," the CCC coach said. "And we just could not keep them off the offensive glass." Stephane Alexander had 10 points for CCC. — Mohawk Valley CC 66, Clinton CC 38 Clinton CC (38) Alexander 4-2-10, Vice 2-2-8, Jones 1-1-4, Lettrick 0-0-0, Hughey 3-0-6, Hodge 2-0-5, Hardy 2-1-5, Leslie 0-0-0.
