CCC Men lose to Schenectady on the road

Friday, April 09, 2010

Schenectady, NY- The baseball team lost 2 games to host Schenectady CC on Thursday.
Schenectady beat CCC 4-2.

Schenectady C.C. had three runs in the bottom of the first inning.

Matt Brown was the pitcher for CCC. "Brown settled in after the first inning and it was a really good game — well played by both teams," said Clinton C.C. head coach Tom Neale.

"We had baserunners all over the place, including the bases loaded in the fifth. Their pitcher (Billy Creighton) was good and struck out 12. But, we had several chances to score and the difference in the game was they took advantage of their chances a little more than we did."

Josh Chapman had two hits for the Cougars.

Clinton scored an unearned run in the top of the second. Clinton then added one run in the fifth on Nick Leffler's RBI single that cut the Cougars' deficit at the time to 3-2.
