Clinton Men win in overtime 2-1 over Jefferson CC

Watertown-Kurtis Hathaway scored at 7:30 in the first sudden death overtime to lift CCC to a 2-1 win over Jefferson Community College. Mike Southwick had the assist.

Brannion Sample scored in the second half. Matt Sequin's throw in went to Adam Scharf who flicked the ball to Sample who headed it into the net.

Jefferson scored at 7:10 left in the second half to tie the game.

Goalie Wade Studley hurt his ankle. Coach Arnold said,"He (Studley) gave it a try after he got hurt, but couldn't stay in there. Chris Maulding came in and did a nice job. It was a good team effort today because we had some players banged up.It was nice to put one in the win column."

Coach Arnold also said,"We've stepped back at times this year when we've had some adversity. That wasn't the case today, however, as we were able to get some leadership from our captains."

Clinton (2-6) will host Paul Smith's College on Monday, Sept.25 at 4:00PM.
