Lady Cougars Participate in Think Pink Week

Monday, February 04, 2008

Plattsburgh – Come join Clinton Community College Lady Cougar’s Basketball Team on February 7, 2008 at 5pm and "Think Pink." All fans get in free when you wear pink and give a $2.00 donation to join in the fight against breast cancer. The "Think Pink" initiative is a global, unified effort for the Women's Basketball Coaches Association's (WBCA) nation of coaches to assist in raising breast cancer awareness on the court, across campuses, in communities and beyond. In 2007, more than 120 schools unified for this effort and helped make the inaugural year of "Think Pink" a success. The 2008 initiative has already unified over 750 women’s basketball teams for the cause, including Clinton Community College. Please come and support the fight against this dreadful disease.

The Lady Cougars have sought sponsorship for the Free Throw event held February 4 at Noon in the CCC gym. All proceeds from these events benefit The American Cancer Society for breast cancer research and finding a cure for this epidemic.

The Lady Cougars have partnered with SUNY Plattsburgh’s Women’s Basketball Team and will be attending their game on February 9, 2008 at 6pm. The Lady Cougars will be selling 50/50 tickets at the game and all the proceeds will go to the fight against breast cancer.

According to a study conducted by the American Cancer Society in 2007, it was estimated that there would be 178,480 new cases of breast cancer in women and 2,030 new cases of breast cancer in men. Of these, an estimated 40,460 women and 450 men will die from the disease.
