CCC Board of Trustees Approve New Programs

Plattsburgh, New York ….A resolution for a new program in Wind Energy and Turbine Technology, associate in applied science degree, developed by Janice Padula, professor of math/science at CCC, was approved by the CCC Board of Trustees at their May 27, 2008 regular monthly meeting. The new program came about as a work force initiative designed to address alternative energy careers in our area and to help meet the growing need for trained technicians. Padula explained, “With wind energy as the largest growing industry in the world, the college is in a perfect position to offer the program and begin teaching the necessary courses.”

The Board passed the resolution to approve an associate of arts degree in Fine Arts for the Humanities/Social Science Division, two programs which are scheduled for reactivation include, the Electrical Technology: Electronics and the Computer Technology, associate of applied science degrees for the Mathematics/Science Division. Lastly, approval was given to change the program name from Business Information Technology, to Administrative Assistant, associate of applied science degree in the Business/Technology Division.

All programs are pending final approval from the SUNY Board of Trustees in Albany.
