Educators from CFES schools and colleges throughout the Northeast will develop and expand their collaborative efforts to put more CFES Scholars on the path to higher education during an upcoming workshop, sponsored by College For Every Student.

On January 21-22, representatives from CFES schools and their college partners will gather at the High Peaks Resort in Lake Placid (2384 Saranac Avenue), New York. Over 75 educators from five states will participate, the majority from the Adirondacks.

School and college representatives will develop partnering activities destined to help more than 2,000 students take steps toward college success.

Participants will also share recent best practices that are opening doors to new experiences and greater resources for their students.

"It’s all about connections," says CFES President & CEO Rick Dalton.

"Schools are eager to tap into the resources offered by the colleges, and the colleges are anxious to do what they can to help prepare underserved students for the rigors of college...to help them realize their dream. It’s a win-win situation."

John Jablonski, president of Clinton Community College, will kick off the workshop at 1 PM Thursday with a keynote address. President Jablonski will reflect on President Obama’s American Graduation Initiative, which seeks to grow community colleges to allow more people access to a college education.

That evening at 7 PM, Dr. Curt Stager, a member of the Science, Liberal Arts, and Business faculty at Paul Smith’s College, will be the featured speaker.
