"Concerts on the Bluff" Lineup Announced

PLATTSBURGH, NY (May 31, 2012) This years "Concerts on the Bluff" music series is back and features some of the areas favorite bands and musicians.

The 38th annual concert series kicks off on Wednesday, July 11th at Clinton Community College with "The Back Porch Band." They are no strangers to the area. They have played a number of times for Concerts on the Bluff with all of their proceeds going to Hospice and local charities.

On Wednesday, July 25th "Too Tall String Band" will take center stage. The band plays a variety of stringed instruments, including hammered dulcimer, mandolin, banjo, guitar and bass and features strong vocals with three-part harmony from members Bruce Lawson, Rod Driscoll and Hap Wheeler. Driscoll has been at the helm since the band was formed in 1984.

"The Buskers" will make a repeat appearance this year on Wednesday, August 1st. Hailing from New Hampshire, "The Buskers" have been described as “Folk impurists” with a smart, distinct voice and a kitchen sink repertoire of influences from jug band and jazz to roots rock."

Rounding out the 4 week concert series is Adirondack Folk Singer, Roy Hurd on Wednesday, August 8th. Hurd has performed several times during Concerts on the Bluff drawing fans from all over the tri-county area. Hurd is described as a dynamic performer and world-class singer/songwriter.

Concerts are held each Wednesday from July 11th to August 8th, with the week of July 18th off. The concerts are held on the lawn behind the Forrence Center (Gymnasium) on campus. They begin at 6:00 p.m. rain or shine and run for approximately 2 hours. The rain location is inside the Forrence Center. Bring a lawn chair or blanket to enjoy the show. Concerts on the Bluff is in its 38th season and attracts hundreds of music lovers during its 4 week run.
