PLATTSBURGH, N.Y. (August 6, 2012) Clinton Community College has a new Vice President of Institutional Advancement, but he’s no stranger to the campus. Steven G. Frederick has been promoted to Vice President from his previous title of Associate Vice President.

“This title change was long overdue.” Clinton Community College President John E. Jablonski said. “Steve has been a fixture on this campus for the past decade and has proven that he deserves this promotion.”

Frederick joined Clinton Community College in 2002 as Dean of Development and Alumni Affairs. In that role, Frederick oversaw the CCC Foundation and Fundraising as well as the CCC Alumni Association. In his current role as Vice President for Institutional Advancement, Frederick continues to oversee those departments as well as public relations, marketing and government relations.

Vice President for Institutional Advancement Steven G. Frederick said, “The news came as a surprise. I didn’t know this was in the works, but I couldn’t be happier.”

The Foundation’s latest project has Frederick travelling all over the North Country and beyond. The Clearly Clinton capital campaign, which officially launched in January, is a five-year, $7.5 million dollar fundraising effort to help build a 21st Century Learning Commons on campus. The total cost of the project is estimated to be $15 million dollars. The State University of New York will match the $7.5 million the Clearly Clinton campaign raises.

In its first year, Frederick and his team have raised over a million dollars for the Clearly Clinton campaign, setting the pace for a successful start to year two. Highlights from the first year include two record donations totaling a half-million dollars.

Frederick was awarded his title change at the Clinton Community College monthly Board Meeting on Monday, July 30th with unanimous support from the Board of Trustees.

“We are so happy to have Steve on our team.” President Jablonski said. “The title change doesn't have any budget impact, but it does recognize Steve's outstanding leadership at Clinton Community College and in the community."

Frederick said “I have seen many positive changes on this campus over the past 10 years and I predict the next 10 years will be just as transformational.”

Frederick is very active in the community. He is a member of the Plattsburgh Noon Rotary Club, serving as President in ‘08-‘09. He is also past president and treasurer of JCEO, former board member of the Plattsburgh North Country Chamber of Commerce, SUNYCUAD, Adirondack Planned Giving Society, Clinton County Fair, and Plattsburgh State Alumni Association. Steve lives in West Chazy, NY with his wife and 3 children.
