Phi Theta Kappa to Induct New Members

Alpha Pi Tau, Clinton Community College’s chapter of Phi Theta Kappa, the International Honor Society of Two-Year Colleges is set to induct 20 new members. The ceremony will be held Friday, December 2 at 7:00 PM in the Theater of Clinton’s Stafford Center.


Students who achieve a 3.5 cumulative GPA after completing 12 credits at CCC are invited to join the Alpha Pi Tau chapter of Phi Theta Kappa. Clinton’s chapter provides opportunities for student leadership and participation in campus and community service projects throughout the year. There are currently 47 active members of Alpha Pi Tau.


Leonard Skillan will be the guest speaker at Friday’s ceremony. Originally from Pennsylvania, Skillan has his B.A. in Social Science from the University of Nebraska, Omaha, and his M.A. in Counseling from SUNY Plattsburgh. Skillan’s career includes 26 years of service in the U.S. Air Force where he retired as Chief Master Sergeant; six years as a Continuing Education Counselor at Clinton Community College; and work as the Family Support Center Director at the Plattsburgh Air Force Base.


The public is invited to attend Friday’s ceremony.
