Clinton Students Named to All-NY Academic Team

Two Clinton Community College students, Paige Barcomb and Marcus Griffith, have been named to the 2017 USA Today Phi Theta Kappa All New York Academic Team. Phi Theta Kappa is the International Honor Society of Two-Year Colleges, and the All State awards recognize students who exhibit outstanding scholarly achievement and community service.

Paige Barcomb is a Presidential Scholar and will be graduating from Clinton with her Liberal Arts: Humanities and Social Sciences Associate of Arts degree in May. Her interests are in teaching and working with children, and mathematics. She plans to pursue her bachelor degree in mathematics at SUNY Plattsburgh and later get her New York State teaching certification for high school mathematics. In addition to being a student at Clinton, Ms. Barcomb also works at the Champlain Valley Physicians Hospital and looks after young children.

Marcus Griffith graduated from Clinton in December of 2016 with an Associate of Applied Science Degree in Wind Energy and Turbine Technology and a Certificate in Renewable Energy. He is now pursuing his bachelor’s degree in Engineering at Clarkson University to become an Electrical Engineer in the Alternative Energy field. While at CCC, Mr. Griffith was committed to various activities regarding issues of environmental awareness. His professional goal is to explore how alternative energy technology can meet the needs of modern life while ensuring our planets long term viability.

The USA Today Phi Theta Kappa All New York Academic Teams were recognized at a ceremony on March 2 at the New York State Museum in Albany.
