Monday, March 13, 2017

Six Clinton CC students- Cole Dubrey, Miaomiao Dong, Thomas Gwinn (Lead Delegate), Joel Herzog, Liz Audrey Djomnang Kounatse, and Mark Preston- participated in the Harvard National Model United Nations conference, February 16 -19.

With the help of other International Club members and faculty advisors, Chris Drennan, Sami Jeskanen, and Diane Parmeter, the students worked for a year to secure funding for the trip and prepare for the challenging debates addressing issues of international peace, human rights and sustainable development. Each participant researched their country’s history and politics and wrote position papers accepted by the Harvard UN team. For four days, the students spent hours in and out of committee sessions working with students from over 70 countries to draft, support and come to agreement on resolutions.

Funding was provided by the International Club, the Student Senate, and the Clinton Alumni Association.
