Friday, April 21, 2017

Clinton Community College student, Jessica Rigby, had her poem “Lust” published in the national publication of Phi Theta Kappa Honor Society Anthology Nota Bene ‘16. The publication recognizes outstanding writing of Phi Theta Kappa members and demonstrates to the literary public the academic excellence and commitment to scholarship found at two-year colleges. Nota Bene has been published annually for 23 years.

The work was chosen for publication along with six other best poems recognized from many submissions across the country, and was the only piece in the publication from New York State. “I love to write as a creative outlet for my emotions,” states Jessica. “Being recognized by this publication is an extraordinary honor.”

Rigby’s writing and photography has also been published in The Cliffhanger, Clinton Community College’s annual creative arts magazine, and Write to Woof, an annual anthology published by Grey Wolfe Publishing.

Rigby is currently a student at CCC majoring in Liberal Arts: Humanities and Social Sciences and is both a CCC Honors Program and Phi Theta Kappa Honor Society Scholar. She is an active member of Clinton’s Student Senate and PTK, as well as Drama, Creative Writing, and Science Clubs.
