Clinton Community College and Vision 2 Action will be hosting Get Ready 2 Earn, a two-day event, April 28 from 4:30-8:00pm and April 29 from 9:30am-1:00pm, highlighting the exciting career opportunities available in the North Country that can be unlocked with degrees and certificates offered by the new Institute for Advanced Manufacturing (IAM).

Manufacturing is on the rise in our region. Employers are looking to hire skilled workers, and the courses and programs available through CCC’s IAM is how people can gain those high-demand skills. "Job and career opportunities have never been more diverse and abundant in the area, especially in all aspects of manufacturing. New technologies have changed the face of area industry from even a decade ago,” states Garry Douglas, North Country Chamber of Commerce President. “Get Ready 2 Earn will provide a great way to learn more about what's happening in the area economy and how residents of all ages might prepare to take full advantage.”

Get Ready 2 Earn
will be an expo-style event where people can meet the manufacturers, learn about the companies, and find out what skills they need to get hired. There will also be information about the IAM, Clinton’s technology programs, and options for enrolling.

"Vision2Action is thrilled to see the steps being taken by the Institute for Advanced Manufacturing at Clinton Community College to help our workforce adapt to the needs of local employers,” adds V2A member Hannah Provost. “By hosting this event, V2A is aiming to showcase just how much opportunity there is in our area."

Get Ready 2 Earn
will be interactive and family-friendly, and is free and open to the public. Participants will have the opportunity to try their hand at different skills, and compete for exciting prizes including gear from Lincoln Welding, Snap On tools, and Milwaukee. There will be demonstrations of 3D printing and from local youth robotics clubs. All participants will also have the opportunity to enter a grand prize drawing to win $1000 towards the education program of their choice.
