Summer Arts Courses at CCC

Tuesday, June 19, 2018

The Lake Champlain Summer Arts Institute at Clinton Community College is a week-long summer arts program for students aged 13 to 17. The Institute, which is unique to the region, will run July 23 through 27, and features sessions in the visual, literary, and performing arts.

“Clinton is in a beautifully inspiring location and has top-notch arts facilities,” states president DiPasquale. “This is a great opportunity for young students to take advantage of that, as well as learn from professional artists, writers, actors, and musicians.”

The Arts Institute will offer the following sessions: Anime, Painting with Acrylics, Photography, Learn to Play the Ukulele, A Capella 101, Become a Triple Threat in Auditions for Musical Productions, “What Rhymes with Pterodactyl?” Poetry Writing, Short Story Writing, and Coming of Age in the 80’s: Five Films by John Hughes.

Each course is taught by a professional in their respective field. Sessions are offered from 8:30-10:20am, 10:30am-12:20pm, and 1:00-3:15pm. Students may sign up for one session, or multiple sessions to enrich their experience. The week will end with a family barbeque, followed by student performances and a showcase of student artwork that will be open to the community.
