Monday, July 10, 2006

Clinton Community College is pleased to announce its 2006 schedule of Concerts on the Bluff performances. Every summer, for the last 32 years, Clinton Community College has hosted the concert series on the campus grounds at 136 Clinton Point Drive. The concerts are free and open to the public on select Wednesday evenings during the months of July and August.

Please note there is a change in concert date appearances from an earlier announcement.

This year’s concert series begins on July 12th with Velvet Rabbits, playing jazz standards, rock' n roll, blues and pop. Audiences are sure to enjoy these rhythms and moods played by a group of six musicians, including vocalist Eileen Egan Mack.

The group Branded will make their concert appearance on July 19th. This group based in Plattsburgh, New York has been providing their audiences with a fresh new look at an old American tradition, entertainment with a smile. The concert is sponsored by John Geno Insurance Agency. The powerful melodies of New Country, Old/Southern Rock and original material, mixed with impeccable harmonies and instrumentation, gives Branded listeners airtight arrangements in which to stomp their feet.

One of the Adirondack’s favorite sons, singer and songwriter, Roy Hurd and his fiddler friend from Glens Falls, New York, Frank Orsini, will perform on July 26th. The CCC Alumni Association is their sponsor. Adirondack Life magazine says, “ Roy Hurd is the best known singer-songwriter in the Adirondacks. His appeal lies as much in his storytelling as it does in his smooth vocal delivery and clear guitar work. The force of his belief is in the gentleness of his delivery.”

The concert series will conclude on August 2nd with the return of the group Joey Fusion. Joey Fusion creates original material by combining the different styles of jazz, funk, country, pop and rock n’ roll. Together they fuse musical genres into a novel and unexplored sound. The concert is sponsored by the CCC Student Senate.
