CCC Foundation Receives Gift of $2 Million

Wednesday, November 08, 2006

The Clinton Community College Foundation announced the gift of $2 million today from George and Shirley Moore, of Keeseville, New York. George Moore, owner of George Moore Truck & Equipment Corporation, real estate investor and developer and former steel worker, has been a generous supporter of the College Foundation for over 31 years and he recently created an endowment with a gift of $100,000. “What I admire the most about CCC” said Moore, “is everyone gets a chance to succeed. The extensive number of people in the area who are Clinton alumni strikes me. Shirley and I feel good that our gift will support local students who are trained and then stay and work in the community. We feel our gift has the greatest impact at Clinton Community College and we’re convinced now, more than ever, that we have made the right decision.”

According to Steve Frederick, dean of development and alumni affairs, “Mr. Moore has a long standing record of supporting CCC and this gift from the Moore’s has certainly elevated and energized the good work of the Foundation.”

Maurice “Moe” Hickey, president of CCC said, “We’re exceedingly grateful for the Moore’s generosity and share their hope that others might recognize the value of supporting their community college.”
