Bringing the “Clinton Advantage” to You

Thursday, January 11, 2007

Clinton Community College is pleased to announce its schedule of off-campus classes for the Spring 2007 semester. Credit courses in English, Math, and Psychology will be offered at the Podd Building in Rouses Point. A Computer Applications course will be available at the Northern Adirondack High School.

“Building on previous credit and contract-training educational relationships established with companies like Wyeth Pharmaceuticals,” explained Dr. Maurice Hickey, CCC president, “we’re extending our efforts to provide college-level, credit-bearing coursework beyond employees of companies to local area community members who may be interested in pursuing course work and their certificate or associate degrees with us.”

“We’re very excited by the prospect of bringing our courses directly to the communities, to the people we serve,” said Dr. Paul Almonte, CCC’s vice president for academic affairs. “Such outreach is the hallmark of our mission to provide access and educational opportunity to all Clinton County residents.”

“It’s been a real pleasure to work with folks like Elaine Reynolds at Wyeth to identify courses and programs of study their employees want see up in the northern part of the county,” Almonte added. “We’re gratified by the interest being shown and our faculty leaders and Continuing Education and Student Services staff worked hard to get the courses established.”
