Basic EMT
This course is designed for individuals who wish to actively ride and work in ambulances, providing care for the sick and injured. Successful completion and passing of the NYS Department of Health written and practical exams at the end of the course will lead to EMT-B certification. It covers all aspects of basic life support care and includes both classroom and practical skills sessions.

Critical Care Original

Registration* and payment can be done by:
1. Phone- With a MasterCard or Visa
2. In Person- Stop by our office on the 1st floor of the main building
3. By Mail- Complete a registration form and mail it with payment of check or money order
4. Bill your Agency/Employer**
*If you are registering for a refresher course, rapid recertification, or an advanced EMT course you will also need to submit a copy of your current valid certification card when you register. Your card must be valid through the date of the NYS certification exam (the last day of class).
**If your agency is paying for the course we will accept an agency voucher that allows us to bill your agency. The voucher must be submitted when you register so we can make a copy for our records. The voucher must include a billing address and the name of the authorized person to receive the bill. If your employer is not an approved state EMS agency or does not use agency vouchers but would like to pay for your training, they must provide written authorization to do so. This must include the name of your company, address, phone number, name of the person authorizing the billing, and their signature. Registration cannot take place without a voucher or written authorization.
NYS Department of Health EMS Reimbursement Information
Qualified NYS EMS agencies may be able to have their tuition expense reimbursed through the NYS Department of Health, Bureau of Emergency Services. Reimbursement for tuition expenses paid at the beginning of an EMT’s EMS training program can only be obtained after the class is completed and the student receives his/her certification card. To obtain reimbursement for the full tuition (tuition only, not text or other training materials) the agency requesting reimbursement must complete a State of New York STANDARD VOUCHER (form AC 92). The form and instructions for completing it can be obtained through the Clinton County Office of Emergency Services website.
Age Requirements
Students who enroll in Certified First Responder Courses must be at least 16 years old by the last day of the month in which the NYS written certification examination is scheduled to be held.
Students who enroll in EMT Courses must be at least 18 years old by the last day of the month in which the NYS written certification examination is scheduled to be held.
