Finding Items in the Douglas Library's Catalog
FINDING ITEMS USING THE LIBRARY’S CATALOG 1. Go to the CCC website at
www.clinton.edu.
2. Click "Douglas Library."
3. Click "Library Catalog."
4. Click in the box next to “Type word or phrase,” and type your search terms.
5. Click "Go."

Arrangement: Books are arranged on the shelves by subject, in order by call number.

Call Number: You will need the call number to find the book on the shelf.

Determining Whether or Not an Item Has Been Borrowed: This information is listed under "Library/Items."
If the catalog says, “0 out,” it means the item is available.

Link to Items: Clicking “Availability” will let you know when a borrowed item is due.

More Information: Click the title of the item to find more information about that item.

PSUNY: You may also borrow books from Feinberg Library at PSUNY with a valid CCC ID.
“All Fields” Searches Versus “Subject Heading” Searches *
When you do an “All Fields” search, the computer looks for your terms in author, title, subject, etc. fields.
1. Click in the box next to “Type word or phrase,” and type your search terms.
2. Click "Go." Notice the number of results.

When you do a “Subject Heading” search, the computer only looks for items in the subject heading field.
1. Click in the box next to “Type word or phrase,” and type your search terms.
2. Change the top box that says, "All Fields" to "Subject Heading.”
3. Click "Go." Notice the number of results. It is likely to be less than you got when you searched all fields.
