Reference Guide to Short Fiction

Arranged alphabetically by author, the first section of this book provides biographical and bibliographical information, as well as brief critical essays of 376 writers of short stories and novellas, most born after 1750. Arranged alphabetically by the title, the second section contains 403 essays, each discussing a work of short fiction by one of the authors. There is an index at the end that lists all the short story collections included in the bibliographies, individual stories mentioned in the essays, and selected other important works.
