Clinton Community College
The Human Services Alcohol/Substance Abuse Counseling Certificate Program is a 31-credit course that is designed to prepare students for entry-level employment or to enhance current employment within the addictions field. This certificate provides an academic and experiential foundation for skill development and ethical practice in the field of addiction counseling. Areas of employment possibilities are outpatient and inpatient treatment agencies, residential programs, corrections, and medical detoxification units.

The Alcohol and Substance Abuse Counseling Certificate meets the 350 educational hours for the CASAC credential. It does not meet the work requirement hours as dictated by The New York State Office of Alcoholism and Substance Abuse Services.
