Life Experience Transfer Credit for HUS 281/282

What is Life Experience Credit?

The Human Services Program recognizes that college level learning may be acquired outside of the classroom. Human Services students may be awarded college credit for prior work experiences and learning in a Human Services work setting. Specific criteria must be met for the student to be considered.

Criteria to be met are:

Over 5,000 hours of work at one agency specializing in Human Services
Development of an approved portfolio meeting submission deadline
Completion of all required College documentation
Payment of portfolio review
Approval of Human Services Sub-Committee

The portfolio will contain:

Cover page containing the following information:

Name
Contact Information to include email address, telephone number and address
Title of Position
Job Description
Supervisor’s Name and Contact Information

Updated resume
Essay - Describing how your experience meets the course descriptions and expectations of HUS 281/282.
Work verification form
College Transcripts documenting:

Overall GPA of 2.5
Completion of all 100 level coursework in Human Services
At least one 200 level course completed
Evaluation from last Supervisor(s)
Continuing Education documents
