The default number of worksheets in a workbook is 3 but you can change this by:

1. Click the Microsoft Office Button.  The Popular options of Excel should display. 
2. Under the When creating new workbooks, click the Up or Down arrow to increase or decrease the number of sheets according to your preference.  
3. Click OK.
