Students may take this course after successfully completing a college level math course at Clinton Community College (CCC) or another recognized institution (e.g. MAT103 – Finite Mathematics at CCC or equivalent course). Students may also place directly into this course by scoring sufficiently high on the CCC math placement exam or by recommendation of a math faculty member.
Who should take MAT 215?
This course is a required course in the Business Administration (Transfer) curriculum. Also, MAT215 meets the State University of New York (SUNY) General Education course requirements and will satisfy the SUNY General Education knowledge area of mathematics at SUNY four-year institutions.
What will I learn in MAT 215 ?
Calculus for Business Students is a course designed to give the business student a working knowledge of the skills and techniques necessary to solve the special mathematical problems of modern businesses. The course will begin with fundamentals of modeling and will continue to study functions and their graphs, an introduction to limits, the methods of finding derivatives, the interpretation and applications of derivatives in economic terms, and finding anti-derivatives with their applications in the business world.

The Math Department at CCC recommends that you review the following prerequisite topics to be successful in MAT 215: Regression , evaluating functions,use of TI-84 calculator.
You can do this from home by selecting any of the aforementioned topics on the math-tutorial websites listed below; there you will find mini-lectures, worked problems, practice problems and helpful tips.
