You have to name a range in order to import into Contacts within Outlook. What you need to do in Excel.1. Open the file.2. Make sure you have titles on the columns as this will make it easier to import. Highlight the area you want to import into Contacts.3. Click on Insert, Name, and Define and name your range, "Import" for example.4. Save your file. What you need to do in Outlook:1. Click on File, then Import and Export. This will bring up a wizard.2. Select Import from another program or file and click Next.3. Click on Microsoft Excel and click Next.4. Select the file you want to import and decide how you want duplicates handled. Click Next.5. Click on Contacts as that is the folder where we want these records to go.6. Click on the box in Following actions will be performed: and click Map Custom Fields.7. This will open you file and allow you to map the fields to the appropriate fields in Contacts. Click and drag them to the correct fields. Where there is a + sign, click on the + to expand the field to see all the detail in that field. For example, the field Name is made up of Title, First Name, Middle Name, Last Name and Suffix. When done, click Finish and your data should import into Contacts.
