INFO: Different Footers for each page in a document

Posted on 12.04.07

Typically, footers are connected to the previous page or "section."  In order to create a custom footer that is not connected to the previous page, you will need to insert a Section Break.

To create a Section Break:
    1.  Click Insert, Break
Decide what type of break you want (sugegstion: Page Break, Next Page).

To custom your Footer:
    1.   Click on View, Header and Footer.
    2.   Click on the Switch between Header and Footer icon to access the "Footer" area (or
just click in the "Footer" area of the page you are working on).  Enter the information you
          want displayed on this page.
    3.   Move to the next page to enter the "footer" information.  Notice this has the previous
footer information.  If you scroll down a bit, you will see "Same as Previous" listed above the
Header of the next page.  Click in the body of the "footer" information.
    4.   On the Header and Footer toolbar located at the top of the screen, click on the icon that
looks like two sheets of paper side be side with an arrow from one to the other.  This is
the "Link to Previous" icon.  You are disconnecting the one page from the other.  The system
will ask you "Do you want to delete this header/footer and connect to the header/footer in the
previous section?".  Click No.  You should now be able to customize your footer.
