President

Presidential Candidate Profile

Essential Qualifications

Earned doctorate preferred
Personal commitment to the comprehensive community college, including the role of liberal arts, career/technical education, student success, developmental education, and workforce development
Active engagement in forging consensus on college issues and managing organizational change with an open and fair approach that empowers others and promotes team building, trust and collegiality
Evidence of successful teaching and other significant experiences that demonstrate knowledge and support of the teaching/learning process
Proven experience with collaborative partnerships with business, industry, tourism, health groups, non-profit institutions, school districts, and other institutions of higher education
Commitment to diversity initiatives within the college and the community
Well-documented senior-level management skills, including legislative advocacy, inter-governmental relations, strategic planning, creative use of financial resources, policy development, and establishment of college priorities

Desired Qualifications

Skills to enhance the college’s enrollment market share and advance its institutional image
Experience in shared governance, including interest-based bargaining in an academic setting
A professional and personal style that is characterized by integrity, flexibility and openness
An individual who honors the past and challenges the future
A citizen who embraces active involvement with the community and appreciates the unique culture of the North Country

Application Instructions

The successful candidate will describe in writing how they meet the profile items. A completed application will include a curriculum vitae, a cover letter addressing the issues and criteria described in the position prospectus, a completed CCC application form, and unofficial transcripts (official transcripts required upon hire). Screening of applications will begin in summer of 2008 and continue until an appointment is made.
