Re: Minutes of January 24, 2008 Meeting


Trustees Present: Nina Coolidge, William Morgan, and Mark Leta

Members Present: Judy Cavanaugh, Catherine Eloranto, Tobi Hay, Kathleen Kasprzak, Sheri King, Sandra Lowe, Dana Martineau, Janice Padua, Steve St. Onge, and Jackie Walker


Called to order at 7:30 a.m.


1. Mrs. Coolidge welcomed everyone and thanked the committee members for agreeing to participate in this arduous and extremely important task. The committee is an all inclusive group that represents areas of the college as well as community members.


2. Committee Members Reviewed:

· Charge to the Committee by the Board of Trustees

· Statement of Confidentiality

· Review of Various Items in Committee Members’ Packets


3. There is $35,000 budgeted for the search process (the college spent $28,000 on the last presidential search).


4. There was a great deal of discussion about the importance of campus visits when the finalists are selected.


5. An Open Forum is scheduled for January 31, 2008 at 2:00 p.m. in the theater of the Stafford Center to seek campus-wide and community input regarding what to look for in, and questions to ask of, candidates seeking the position of CCC President. Information garnered will be returned to the search committee which is scheduled to meet on Friday, Feb 1, to discuss the matrix for screening applications.


6. Input will also be sought from students via the Student Senate.


7. Next Meeting is scheduled for Friday, Feb 1, 2008 at noon in the Board Room.
