New York City Theatre Trip - optional

NEW YORK CITY FIELD TRIP

In 2007, 2008 , 2009, and 2010 students from the American Musical Theatre course spent a whirlwind day in New York City to see a matinee of a Broadway musical.  Those students saw "Spring Awakening," "In the Heights," "Ragtime," and "A Little Night Music."  The selection of the musical for 2011 has not yet been determined.

This is a totally optional experience, open to a limit of 9 students per Fall semester.  Students must pay their own expenses, which include the cost of the theatre ticket, subway ticket, lunch and dinner, and a Megabus ticket from Albany-Rensselaer station to NYC’s Penn Station.  Megabus is a double-decker bus with wireless access.

We leave the CCC parking lot in a CCC van at 3:30am and drive to the Albany-Rensselaer Amtrak station.  This connects to the bus ride into the heart of Manhattan.  After a short time sightseeing we see a matinee performance, have dinner, and make our way back home via Megabus and CCC van.  We return to the CCC campus at 12:15am.
