IAM Ribbon Cutting Ceremony

IAM, Open for Business

The 2017 academic year began with the opening of the new 30,000 sq. ft. Institute for Advanced Manufacturing (IAM). The IAM was funded by the SUNY 2020 Grant ($12.7 million) and is the new technology and manufacturing center for the College, as well as the Community. The IAM will enrich partnerships with local manufacturing firms as well as educational partnerships with Plattsburgh State University, Clarkson University, SUNY Potsdam, as well as local high schools and Champlain Valley Educational Services students.

Over the course of the year, manufacturers sent groups of workers to the IAM for custom training programs. The trend of utilizing the IAM facility and expertise provided by Clinton instructors for workforce development is continuing strong, with companies lining up to train their workers.
