Athletic Achievements

  • The Clinton Community College Athletic Department was recognized by the National Junior College Athletic Association Region III for Sportsmanship. This continues the streak for Clinton, having been recognized each year for Sportsmanship since the inception of the award.
  • The Basketball Scholar Program (BSP) ran for its third year, with great success. The program was developed to provide athletes with academic support and team building, off of the court. Athletes attend study and tutoring sessions together, are provided focused academic advising and access to other support services. These services are available to all Clinton students, but the BSP commits athletes to utilizing them on a regular basis. The BSP has helped increase the retention rate of Basketball players to 93%.
  • An Athletic Booster Club was formed to help offset athletic costs. The club hosted its first Pickleball Tournament along with a Bowl-a-Thon. Faculty, staff, students, and community members participated, raising around $7,000 for Clinton teams.
  • The College received a donation of 2.6 acres of land, which will be used in the renovation of the softball and soccer fields.
  • The Athletic Department led an initiative exploring the feasibility of adding two new athletic programs: Cross Country and Golf.
