Support for Our Students
Clinton Community College is often recognized for its outstanding support provided to students. New programs for student retention and upgrades to facilites, such as the new Learning Commons, are just a few of the ways we have worked to improve student success at Clinton.
- RISE is a new program that was introduced by the Counseling and Advisement team to help bring support services to residence hall students. RISE stands for "Retention Is Student Engagement." Over the course of the year, seven RISE events were facilitated bringing guests from different service areas to present and work with students on topics such as career planning, learning skills, tutoring services, and how to make the most of their college experience. RISE was well received by students, and will continue for the 2018-19 academic year.
- A dedicated Career Services Office was established, along with the hire of a new Career Services Coordinator. The mission of the office is to provide CCC students with opportunities for personal development, to navigate career and educational pathways, and successfully access different experiences across the region.
- The Career Services Office held its first annual Career Expo. The highly successful event connected current students and alumni with area companies who are potentially hiring. Other complimentary services were also provided at the event, including on-the-spot resume review and professional headshots.
