Basic Digital Photo Editing for Beginners

Course Description: Want to be able to crop, rotate, and change the size of your digital photos? Wish you could remove red-eye and adjust the brightness of some of your favorite shots? Have you tried Photoshop, but couldn't’t keep up? Then come join us for this Basic Digital Photo Editing workshop and learn how to edit your digital photos easily, using FREE online programs! Some computer skills required, no experience with photo editing necessary. Students should bring a flash drive with 10 photos on it to work on during class.

Topics that will be covered include:

  • Organization, web storage, and back up
  • Picasa; XnView; Photobucket; Shutterfly
  • Paint.Net – introduction.
  • Changing brightness and contrast
  • Adding text and borders
  • Shareware
  • Rotating, cropping and red eye reduction; change of Focus
  • Fun with filters.
  • Resizing for posting ( Facebook, Ebay etc. )
  • Additional Participant Requests – bring your ideas and questions!

 Learn how to expose the digital image and manipulate the camera settings to achieve a creative image. Explore compositional techniques to achieve balance in your photograph. With the use of Photoshop, learn how to make basic image adjustments. 

Bring your digital camera, your camera manual, and a flash drive.

Course Description: Discover the magic of Photoshop by exploring the use of selections and layers.  Learn how to improve the quality of your photographs using selections and layers or unleash your imagination and create new images using multiple photographs.  This workshop will focus on these two fundamental areas - selections and layers - and will introduce you to unlimited possibilities.  Bring your favorite images and a flash drive to save your work.  Never used Photoshop before?  Try taking Basic Photo Editing for Beginners before signing up for this class.  Note: this class is recommended for those with some knowledge of what Photoshop is and with some computer skills.
