Protecting Assests from the Cost of Nursing Home Care

Course Description:  This 3 hour seminar will provide you with the knowledge you need to protect your assets from the costs of nursing home care, (currently over $8,000 per month!) whether you are single or married, in the event that you or your spouse enters a nursing home in the future. The seminar will focus on protecting your house and money through the use of transfers and trusts. The following topics will be discussed: Deficit Reduction Act of 2005, limits of Medicare, eligibility requirements for Medicaid, transfer penalty rules, exempt transfers, promissory notes, protecting the home, life estates, irrevocable trusts, and Medicaid liens.


NYS Notary Public


  The NYS Notary exam is not included in the course registration fee or administered by the college. However, the Division of licensing Services does use our classrooms for the exams. Course Description: The New York Notary exam is a thorough test of an individual’s knowledge on New York Notary laws and procedure.  This seminar provides the practical training participants need to do well on the exam.  This course will also teach students how to notarize correctly, lawfully and safely.

Preparation & Protection: How Identity Theft Affects You

Course Description: Learn to protect yourself from becoming a victim of identity theft. This includes checking your credit reports regularly, keeping your personal information private, protecting yourself online, and safeguarding your child's identity.

NYS Parks & Recreation Boater Safety

Course Description: This mandatory boater safety course covers all PWC's (Personal Water Craft) which includes boats and jet skis. Mandatory attendance at each session is required and an exam at the completion.  The class will cover all aspects of PWC safety.  

Applications will be available to all who pass the exam so that they may apply for their certification.

The early years are all about relationships. Infants and toddlers need and develop attachments to the special people in their lives. This workshop will offer varying information, techniques, and physical environments to ensure developmentally appropriate practices for infants and toddlers.
