Job Description:


Clinton Community College, a member of the State University of New York, is a progressive community college with a stunning location on the shores of Lake Champlain. The College plays a unique role in the local community and within the state by offering traditional and nontraditional students access to a variety of educational programs. The Web Developer/Programmer reports directly to the IT Director. The Web Developer/Programmer coordinates and maintains the College's presence on the Internet and serves as an advocate for public facing technologies on campus. This is a full-time, professional position with some evening and weekend hours required.


RESPONSIBILITIES


Manages, coordinates, and develops communication materials for the College's web site and related institutional web pages. Ensures that the site and web programs provide accurate, timely information, are easy to navigate, are innovative, and professional in appearance and meet web accessibility guidelines.


Provides technical assistance across campus to ensure that the site actively promotes student recruitment and retention, creates greater public awareness of and support for the college.


Plans and executes visual and structural site redesigns.


Works with the IT department to assure an effective interface between all web-related systems to maintain student accessibility and to ensure effective customer service. Works in coordination with IT staff to develop and maintain web interfaces to network-based resources and the student information system.


Develops, maintains and provides training on user tools to faculty and staff for maintenance of individual web pages.


Keeps current on web technology and development languages to ensure the web site is current with these technologies. Works with the College Relations team to ensure that web pages are in accordance with professional design standards and the College identity guidelines.


Serves as a member of the creative team and committees that develop advertising, publication, and public relations strategies and concepts.


Adheres to confidentiality requirements of college materials and reports.


Performs other duties as assigned.


QUALIFICATIONS


Bachelor's degree or equivalent in computer technology or related field. Strong experience in web design, content management systems, database creation and management, MSSQL Server (T-SQL, Stored Procedures, Functions), ASP.NET I C#, Visual Studio, XML, HTML, VB Script, Javascript, jQuery, JSON, MS IIS, MS Server and Active Directory skills are desirable. Ability to understand the College's technical environment. Minimum two years of experience in web management and functionality, programming, or related field. Previous experience in academic environment desirable. Excellent communication and collaboration skills are essential.
