Associate Staff Accountant

Job Description:

This is a full-time, 12-month, professional position. The Associate Staff Accountant assists with a variety of accounting, bookkeeping and financial tasks. This position will support the accounting and business operations in record keeping, accounts receivables and payables, vouchering, cashiering and reconciliations. The Associate staff accountant will assist in preparing and maintaining documents.

• Provides accounting support to the accounting departments
• Assists in preparing account reconciliations including bank accounts
• Assists in accounts receivable
• Assists in journal and data entry
• Maintains accounting records
• Compiles data
• Provides customer service to students and staff
• Maintains and ensures the confidential treatment of office information, files, activities and contracts
• Provides support and/or back-up to Administration and Finance operations as assigned by the Controller or Vice President for Administration and Finance.
• Performs other duties as assigned
• Associates Degree in Accounting and minimum of one (1) year of appropriate experience.
• Proficient experience with Microsoft Office Word, Excel, PowerPoint
• Familiarity with basic accounting procedures

• Well organized with strong attention to detail
• Dependable and able to work independently and as a college-wide team member
• Strong computer and communication skills
• Ability to multitask
• Excellent customer service skills
