Club Policy - Club Advisor


Club Advisor

  1. Every club and student organization must have a dedicated advisor. An advisor’s primary responsibility is to make a strong commitment to the group.
  2. The advisor must be a part or full-time faculty or staff member at Clinton Community College.
  3. Advisor Responsibilities:
  4. a.     Attend all meetings and functions held by the club/organization.

     b.     Plan and schedule meetings

     c.     Act as chaperone during club trips

     d.     Use Fastbooks or Event Scheduling to secure event location and equipment needs (http://www.clinton.edu/BuildingsGrounds/HowtoBookanEvent.cxml)

     e.     Fill out the online event form found under Campus Life to get approval from the Director of Campus Life. Every event needs to go through this process, whether it is a bake sale or a speaker.

     f.     If the club/organization is very active it is recommend to have more than one advisor to help and attend club activities.

     g.     Maintain an open relationship with the members as well as be available to members

     h.     Advisors must abide by all policies upheld by Clinton Community College and the SUNY system.

     I.     Advisors must maintain club activity records which should be submitted to the CCC Student Senate at the conclusion of each Spring semester (Activity Record form)

     j.     The club advisor is responsible for the club/organization budget (see Budget section below)

     k.     Act as an advocate for the group and empower the club members.

     l.     Act as a guide for student officers so they may learn the expectations and responsibilities for the club 

  5. Each academic year, Student Senate will host an Advisor Appreciation lunch to express our gratitude for your dedication and hard work as club advisors throughout the year!
