Clinton Community College Joins SUNY Reconnect Program to Provide Free Community College for New York Adults

Clinton Community College is proud to announce its participation in the newly launched SUNY Reconnect program, a statewide initiative by the State University of New York (SUNY) designed to help working-age adults return to college and earn a degree.

With over four million working-age adults in New York State who do not currently hold a college degree or credential, SUNY Reconnect aims to meet the growing demand for skilled workers in high-demand fields such as healthcare, technology, and clean energy. The program offers eligible adults—ages 25 to 55 without a college degree—a tuition-free path to an associate degree in high-demand areas.

“This gives our non-traditional students who desire a degree in a high-need area another opportunity to attend Clinton Community College at a limited cost,” said Ken Knelly, Administrator in Charge at Clinton Community College. “Once completed, not only will the students benefit from having a degree, but our community will also benefit from having a higher skilled workforce in areas where we have need.”

SUNY Reconnect helps participants advance their careers by offering flexible scheduling and online options that allow them to work while earning their degree. The program also provides dedicated advising and support services for adult learners throughout their academic journey.

The cost of tuition, fees, books, and supplies is fully covered after all other financial aid is applied, though room and board are not included. Eligible Clinton Community College programs include:

  • Computer and Electronics Technology
  • Computer Information Systems
  • Industrial/Commercial Electrician
  • Mechanical Technology
  • Renewable Energy Technologies
  • Nursing

New Yorkers who qualify can enroll full-time or part-time in one of these associate degree programs and begin their journey toward a brighter, more economically secure future.
