This roundtable discussion will help identify the needs of our local healthcare organizations. It will include a presentation from the Department of Labor and SUNY on how the apprenticeship program and its funding work, as well as a discussion about community partnership opportunities.

A registered apprenticeship is formal training that combines on-the-job training with related instruction provided by an educational partner. The Department of Labor (DOL) funding program combines paid on-the-job training (OJT) and paid formal instruction to provide employees with the knowledge, skills, and competencies needed for career success. When working with apprentices, companies report higher productivity, less turnover,  and substantial return on investment.
