Clinton receives CASAC re-certification

Clinton Community College has been formally re-certified as a provider of 350-hour CASAC - Credentialed Alcoholism and Substance Abuse Counselor training with New York State Office of Addiction Services and Supports (OASAS) through May 1, 2023.

The certification applies to Clinton's Alcohol & Substance Abuse Counseling Certificate program. The certificate completion covers educational hours required for credentialing by the New York OASAS. Due to OASAS regulations, the certificate is a selective program for students who have an earned degree in social sciences. Others can enroll in full AAS Human Services degree and complete the certificate along with the two year degree.

The program is designed to prepare students for starting or enhancing employment within the addictions field. All of the credit hours earned in the Alcohol & Substance Abuse Counseling Certificate program are transferable to the Human Services A.A.S. Degree Program.
