Clinton Community College Foundation Announces 2025 Education Champion Award Recipient

The Clinton Community College Foundation is proud to announce that Michelle LeBeau, RN, BS, MHRM, RHCEOC has been named the recipient of the 3rd Annual Education Champion Award.

Michelle LeBeau currently serves as the President of the University of Vermont Health Network – Alice Hyde Medical Center (AHMC) and the University of Vermont Health Network – Champlain Valley Physicians Hospital (CVPH). In this role, she leads more than 3,100 dedicated healthcare professionals across two vital institutions—AHMC, a 25-bed critical access hospital, and CVPH, a 300-bed Level III trauma center.

A proud graduate of Clinton Community College’s Nursing program, LeBeau began her career providing direct bedside care. Her journey has since evolved into one of exceptional leadership in the healthcare industry. She attributes her professional foundation to the education she received at Clinton, which instilled in her the values of compassion, dedication, and excellence—qualities that have continued to shape her career and positively impact patient care.

LeBeau believes working in healthcare is a privilege and values the importance of empowering individuals in the workplace. She emphasizes that when people feel heard, engaged, and appreciated, their contributions can transform an organization. Her leadership style focuses on the creative inspiration of individual thought, active listening, and creating a culture where all voices are acknowledged and respected.

Beyond her nursing credentials, LeBeau holds degrees in business and human resources, reflecting her broad understanding of organizational dynamics. She believes in the power of positivity, the importance of a smile, and the idea that opportunity is made, not given. Known for her energy and enthusiasm, she embraces change and thrives in ambiguity—qualities that have allowed her to inspire those around her and lead through complex healthcare challenges.

Over the course of her 35+ year career, LeBeau has held several influential roles, including Director of Labor Relations and Occupational Health and Education, Vice President of Human Resources, Chief Operating Officer, and Chief Nursing Officer.

She also actively contributes to the broader healthcare community through her involvement on several boards and advisory groups. LeBeau is a member of the Adirondack Health Institute, The Development Corporation Board of Directors, the Iroquois Healthcare Alliance Board of Directors, and serves on the Advisory Committee of the Vermont Children’s Hospital.

The Education Champion Award celebrates individuals whose dedication to education, leadership, and service exemplifies the values of Clinton Community College. Michelle LeBeau's accomplishments, vision, and commitment to both people and purpose make her a most deserving recipient of this year’s honor.
