Former CCC Students Inducted into National Semi-Pro Baseball Hall of Fame

A group of former Clinton Community College (CCC) students and coaches were recently honored with induction into the National Semi-Pro Baseball Hall of Fame for their outstanding achievements in the Champlain Valley Baseball League. These athletes and coaches have made significant contributions to the sport, and this recognition highlights their lasting impact on the local baseball scene.

The inductees include:

  • Steve Criss: A former CCC basketball player (1984-85), Criss brought his athletic talents to the baseball field, where he became a standout in the Champlain Valley Baseball League.
  • Jeff Doorey: While Doorey didn’t play sports at CCC, his success in semi-pro baseball earned him a spot in the Hall of Fame.
  • Kris Doorey: A member of CCC’s 1992 baseball team, Doorey’s skills on the diamond led to a successful career in semi-pro baseball.
  • Gary Duquette Jr.: Also from the CCC 1992 baseball team, Duquette made a name for himself in the semi-pro league.
  • Roy Ebersole: Ebersole played basketball at CCC (1991-92, 1992-93), but his talents on the baseball field earned him this honor.
  • Jerry Kowalowski: Kowalowski was a multi-sport athlete at CCC, playing soccer in 1988 and 1989 and baseball in 1989 before moving on to a successful semi-pro baseball career.
  • Dennis Labarge: A CCC basketball player from 1987-88 and 1988-89, Labarge was also recognized for his contributions to semi-pro baseball.
  • Jamie Labarge: Jamie, like his brother, played basketball at CCC from 1987-88 and 1988-89 and went on to make his mark in semi-pro baseball.
  • Tom Neale: Neale coached CCC’s baseball team from 1992 to 2015, shaping the lives of many players and building a legacy at the college.
  • Jim Ryan: Ryan played baseball at CCC in 1990 and 1991, later finding success in the semi-pro league.
  • John Zerrahn: Zerrahn, who was an assistant baseball coach at CCC from 1996-98, also earned a spot in the Hall of Fame for his achievements in semi-pro baseball.

This Hall of Fame induction is a proud moment for both the former CCC athletes and the college itself. Their accomplishments are a testament to the strong athletic tradition at CCC and will continue to inspire future students and athletes.
