CCC Alumni Association Honors James Jock with “Distinguished Alumni Award”
Clinton Community College Alumni Association is excited to share that James Jock will be receiving the "Distinguished Alumni Award" for 2024 at the Clinton Alumni Reunion on Saturday, Aug. 17.
Jim, a proud member of the Clinton Community College Class of 1986, is a real estate associate broker with eXp Realty. He's recognized as a certified mentor and an icon agent, thanks to his impressive sales and commitment to the company’s core values. Locally, Jim serves as co-chair of the Professional Standards Committee and as a real estate mediator and ombudsman for the tri-county board of realtors.
Since 2002, Jim has been a dedicated part of the Clinton Community College Alumni Association, holding roles including treasurer and president. He's also been an active participant on search committees, capital campaign committees, and other groups representing alumni. Currently, he serves as immediate past president/chair of the CCC Foundation, where he has been a board member since 2020. During his time as chair, he led efforts to update the accounting system and bring in community partners as board members.
Jim's dedication to Clinton Community College has been recognized with the “Full Circle Award”, given to alumni who return as employees, for his stint as interim human resources director. Before his career in real estate, he worked for Champlain Valley Educational Services as a labor relations specialist, offering HR and labor contract advice to local school district superintendents.
A decorated 21-year Air Force combat veteran, Jim has served in various locations including Germany, Rome, NY, Republic of Panama, Hampton, VA, Cheyenne, WY, and as Plattsburgh’s recruiter. His deployments include the Gulf War (Cairo, Egypt), Kuwait, and Kabul, Afghanistan.
Jim is also a dedicated community member, serving as vice chair of Mosaic Church in Cadyville, NY and as a committee member for Young Life – North Country. He and his wife, Debbi, a 20-year Air Force veteran, have two daughters, Kat of Plattsburgh and Ashley of Burlington, VT.
Reflecting on his time at Clinton, Jim said, "Clinton taught me 'business' while I was working in 'business' and gave me a strong foundation that has served me well. As I give back to Clinton, there’s no greater joy than signing scholarship checks to help our community build their foundation!"
Clinton’s Vice President for Advancement, Steve Frederick said, “I met Jim 20 years ago in the lobby of Clinton Community College in his crisp blue uniform and shiny black shoes recruiting for the US Air Force. I asked if he would like to get more involved with his Alma Mater and we are so fortunate he said yes! Jim has been a fantastic board member and key advisor to me over the years and I am thrilled to see him receive this prestigious award."
The Clinton Community College Alumni Association is thrilled to honor Jim Jock for his achievements and contributions.
