Clinton Community College Faculty and Staff Honored with SUNY Chancellor’s Awards
Clinton Community College proudly announces that three of its outstanding faculty and staff members have been awarded prestigious 2025 SUNY Chancellor’s Awards. These honors recognize exceptional achievement and commitment to excellence in teaching, adjunct instruction, and professional service across the State University of New York (SUNY) system.
Margaret “Peggy” Bolster is recognized with the Chancellor’s Award for Excellence in Teaching. Bolster, an Assistant Professor of Nursing & Allied Health, has been educating future healthcare professionals at Clinton for the past five years. She holds a bachelor’s degree in Classical Languages from the University of Wisconsin (1990), an A.A.S. in Nursing from Clinton Community College (2014), and a BSN (2016) and MSN (2022) from Western Governors University. Drawing on her experience as a psychiatric nurse and mother, Bolster brings empathy, humor, and dedication to her teaching. She is a two-time recipient of student-voted teaching awards and has been selected as a graduation speaker three times. Her strong relationship with students continues beyond graduation, as many of her former students remain in contact as working nurses.

Christina Cone, Adjunct Associate Professor of Science and Paraprofessional Tutor, is recognized with the Chancellor’s Award for Excellence in Adjunct Teaching. With a BA in Chemistry and an Ed.M. in Chemistry Education, Cone has worked in both industry and secondary education. Since 2009, she has taught a variety of science courses at Clinton while raising her family. She later earned a Master’s in Biochemistry to expand her teaching to the collegiate level. Cone is a Tiny Earth Partner Instructor, engaging students in global research projects on antibiotic resistance. She was also named a SUNY Online Teaching Ambassador and recently completed a certificate in instructional design. Her teaching centers on the student perspective and she continually evolves her content to inspire and connect.

Barcomb began her career in public service in 1992 and joined the Clinton County Probation Department in 1995. In 2005, she transitioned to Clinton Community College as Assistant Bursar under Sheri King. Barcomb credits King’s mentorship and professionalism with preparing her for the leadership role she transitioned into in 2018. Officially appointed as Bursar in 2022, Barcomb has remained committed to student service and institutional growth. Her dedication to helping students daily reflects her passion for Clinton’s mission and future.
