Clinton Community College Welcomes New Chairperson, Trustee
A new chairperson and an additional trustee have been named to the Clinton Community College Board of Trustees.
Devi Momot, president and CEO of Plattsburgh-based Twinstate Technologies and a member of the board since March 2014, has been named chairperson. She succeeds David Favro, a member of the board since March 2010 and chairperson for the past eight years.
With Momot's move to chairperson, the board of trustees has named John Redden as vice chairperson, Favro as treasurer, and Nina Coolidge as secretary.
Additionally, Molly Ryan, executive director of the County of Clinton Industrial Development Agency since January 2022, has been appointed by the Clinton County Legislature to the board of trustees.
Momot started her education at Mohawk Community College, earning an associate’s degree in electrical engineering, before completing her bachelor's degree at Excelsior College. She holds cybersecurity certifications such as CISSP, GISP, GSLC, and CMMC-RP. As CEO of a managed cybersecurity firm and an active member of InfraGard, a public-private partnership with the FBI, Momot is a lifelong learner with a deep commitment to her community. She credits her community college experience for igniting her passion for learning and driving her interest in fields like Artificial Intelligence. Her work locally includes more than 41 years of experience in cybersecurity and information security.
Momot highlights the value of stackable credentials, starting with her associate's degree from community college. “Earning my 2-year degree gave me options—to further my education or start a career,” she says. She believes students of all ages can benefit from the affordable, flexible certifications and degrees offered by community colleges, whether for life skills enhancement, career skills and changes or just the love of learning.
"You won’t find a more dedicated group to support your success than at Clinton Community College, and I’m honored to volunteer my time as Board Chair alongside such a committed team." Momot adds.
Ryan earned a bachelor’s degree in government from St. Lawrence University. She has served on the Clinton Community College Foundation board since 2023 and will now transition to the role of trustee.
“Clinton Community College is such a valuable resource to our community and is critical to workforce development in our region," Ryan said. "As the economic development director for Clinton County, I am excited to take on this position as Clinton Community College forges a new path for students and continues building on relationships to strengthen our workforce and the North Country economy.”
