Clinton Community College Completes Historic First Semester at New Locations

December marks a historic moment for Clinton Community College as it completes its first full semester at its new locations.
The college now offers academic courses at the main George Moore Building and other facilities on SUNY Plattsburgh’s campus, as well as at the Institute for Advanced Manufacturing on Clinton Point Drive and the UVM Health Champlain Valley Physicians Hospital.
“As the end of the year approaches, it serves as a natural moment to reflect, and we have so much to be grateful for here at Clinton,” said Acting President Ken Knelly. “I am deeply thankful to everyone who helped make the monumental move from our old campus to our new locations so seamless.”
Students are already feeling the benefits of the transition.
Velauriea Dubay, a second-year student, says the new setting has made the Clinton Community College experience more convenient and more connected.
“Clinton might be a small school, but with this new location, I’m expanding my social network,” said Dubay. “Students are getting to know each other in new ways. I’m meeting classmates I never crossed paths with at the old campus.”
Faculty members are noticing the difference, too.
“There’s a lot more energy on campus,” said Professor Angela Barnaby, who has taught at Clinton for more than 25 years. “You can see it. You can feel it. By moving to a smaller, more centralized location that’s on the same campus as SUNY Plattsburgh, services are more accessible to our students, and that makes a real impact.”
The move has also strengthened academic resources.
“With our partnership with SUNY Plattsburgh’s Feinberg Library, we saw an automatic boost in access, including expanded hours, more staff and additional resources,” said Head of Library Services Sarah Jennette. “It’s a big thing to celebrate.”
As 2025 comes to a close, Clinton is looking ahead with optimism.
“We are excited to expand our offerings in the new year,” said Knelly. “With enrollment up again this year, we see tremendous opportunity to serve even more students. We can’t wait to build on this momentum and continue working for our students, and the greater North Country.”
